PREVIEW AiPHT
Preceding the fair opening, we will hold a special exhibition PREVIEW AiPHT in the hotel lobby, presenting selected works of acclaimed artists from different generations, represented by the participating galleries. Please visit the exhibition to observe the transition and feel the future of contemporary art in Japan, which is gaining increasing attention internationally.

TAGBOAT AWARD
TAGBOAT AWARD is held annually to provide artists opportunities to show their artworks and expand their careers. This time around, we will hold the award in Japan and Taiwan simultaneously. Artists, who were awarded the first, second, and jury prizes in Taiwan, are given this chance to exhibit their artworks at Art in PARK HOTEL TOKYO 2016. Please do not miss this opportunity to observe the new art scene in Taiwan.

Is the Japanese contemporary art needed in the international art markets?
We will begin with a shared reading session of the book “Art Predicts the Future of Capitalism – 70 Years of Art Trend after the War Told by an Art Dealer” recently written by Mr. Hozu Yamamoto, the director of the first contemporary art gallery in Japan, Tokyo Gallery. Then a member of the ART OSAKA committee, Yoshio Katoh (curator and art critic) will ask Mr. Yamamoto questions relating to the current situation of the Japanese contemporary art in the international art markets. The talk will be approximately 90 minutes.

Rebranding of Park Hotel Tokyo through Art and a Tour of the Artist Rooms
Both the rebranding of Park Hotel Tokyo through involvement in art and the Artist in Hotel program, where artists are invited to decorate entire hotel rooms, are getting a lot of media attention. We will invite the artists who are involved in the program and ask them to share some behind-the-scene stories such as; episodes in their making process and their concepts for the hotel rooms. There will be a tour of the Artist Rooms after the talk.

The Macallan – Special Exhibition,Tasting and Sales of the Macallan Whiskey
During the art fair, we will have a special exhibition and sales of limited edition bottles of the Macallan single malt Scotch whiskey, bottled in beautiful specialized decanters. Also on display will be a rare single malt whiskey comprised of whiskies drawn from 16 different Sherry cask styles. Guest will be invited to taste the rare varieties of the Macallan whiskey, for a reasonable price on this special occasion. Please feel invited to make yourself comfortable in the luxurious room filled with the elegant atmosphere of the Macallan.
