[EN] ART in PARK HOTEL TOKYO 2016

Gallery SIDE 2 opened in 1997, to introduce the ideas and the works of young contemporary artists who have never shown in Tokyo. It also aimed to introduce new ideas of art that pushes the existing borders. In the year 1997-2001, exhibited artists include Doug Aitken, Brain Calvin, Sylivie Fleury,Maureen Gallace, Karen Kilimnik, Elke Krystufek, Chris Ofili, Elizabeth Peyton, Steven Pippin. In the past decade, the gallery started to work with Tokyo based artists in their 20’s-30's, currently represents 9 Japanese artists: Jun Fujita, Takeo Hanazawa, Takahiro Inamori, Yuko Murata, Yusuke Saito, Shinako Sato, Masaru Tatsuki, Fumito Urabe, Yasuko Watanabe. These emerging artists have started to show in both international and domestic museum group shows as well as international gallery shows.
