ART in PARK HOTEL TOKYO 2018

The contemporary art fair ART in PARK HOTEL TOKYO 2018 (AiPHT) will be held in Park Hotel Tokyo located in Shiodome on the weekend of March 9 – 11, 2018 (A preview will be held on Thursday, March 8). For this third installment, AiPHT will coincide with Art fair Tokyo 2018, this cooperation will make this contemporary art specialized fair a unique and memorable one.
The total of 42 galleries will participate in AiPHT 2018: 16 galleries from Tokyo, 24 galleries from outside of Tokyo, 1 gallery from Taiwan and 1 gallery from Korea. They will use hotel rooms as gallery spaces to present their most recommended artworks, ranging from painting, sculpture, print, photograph to installation utilizing an entire room. Fair guests will have a chance to see all the popular contemporary artworks.
One of the characteristics of this fair is the participation of many galleries from outside of Tokyo. These galleries will present selected artists and artworks, which are not shown often in Tokyo, in quality presentations. Another characteristic of this fair is that it utilizes the hotel rooms, which helps the fair guests to imagine having artworks in their home. This fair will be a perfect chance to experience art in an intimate setting and discover artworks that are special to every guest.
Last but not least, the fair venue, Park Hotel Tokyo, is a highly rated hotel and they actively incorporate art in their branding. This year, they were awarded the Excellence in the Field Award at the 3rd Japan Tourism Awards for their innovative program: “Artist in Hotel”, in which they transform hotel rooms into immersive installations.
Outside the windows of the fair venue on the 26th and 27th floors of the hotel, spread views of Hamarikyu Gardens on the east and Tokyo Tower on the west. We hope the fair guests will enjoy the fantastic views and luxurious atmosphere along the great artworks.
