In most businesses, the market is surveyed, and commodities are offered which match existing market demand. To the contrary, galleries introduce to the world art works from artists who they have anticipated promising, and endeavors to make people recognize the value of those works. The important thing is a contrary pleasure when encountering unexpected art works. The Tachibana Gallery was launched in 2011 with the intention to produce "rendezvous with things which cannot be predicted." Rather than artists whose works can be predicted ten years from now, we support artists who cannot guess what they will produce in ten years. It is difficult to bestow astonishment every time on the viewer. However, with the freedom unique to a young gallery, we will continue to dare without fear of failure.
