GALLERY INFORMATION
Nishimura Gallery
Nishimura Gallery opened at Ginza, Tokyo in 1974. We introduced David Hockney, Peter Blake, Richard Hamilton, Lucian Freud, and so on to Japan who was little familiar with British contemporary art at that time. In other hands, we held Katsura Funakoshi’s solo exhibition for the first time in 1985. Since then, we have continuously had exhibitions of Japanese artists like Funakoshi, Takanobu Kobayashi, Chieko Oshie, Atsuhiko Misawa, Kumi Machida, Asae Soya, and Nahoko Sashida. We relocated 4 times and currently open at Nihonbashi, Tokyo since 2006. In 2012, our history book “Nishimura Gallery 35 Years plus” was published from Kyuryudo Art Publishing. In 2014, we had the exhibition celebrating our 40th Anniversary.
