Prior to the AiPHT2020 art fair, AiPHT PLUS will introduce works from participating artists by holding exhibitions on the Lobby Floor (25th) and the Artist Floor (31st) at Park Hotel Tokyo. Guests will have a chance to preview the fair atmosphere through a variety of different artists’ works including painting, photography, sculpture and more.

The Current Situation and Whereabouts of the Contemporary Art Scene
The Asahi Shimbun senior staff writer, Wakato Onishi, will be our guest speaker and he will discuss what is happening now in the contemporary art field. For years he has been visiting numerous art scenes across Japan and abroad and writing about them. Furthermore, we will ask him to share his thoughts on ‘freedom of expression’ as a journalist, with us.

The ‘Artist in Hotel’ Project Is Coming Back!
Park Hotel Tokyo will restart the ‘Artist in Hotel’ project after three years of absence, since 2017 when the 31st artist room ‘Mount Fuji’ was completed. In this talk, hotel manager Masaomi Ichinomiya will look back on the project’s footsteps until now and talk about how it contributed to the hotel branding and how it changed the company climate. By sharing some of the comments from hotel staff and the hotel’s future outlook with us, he will talk about the present situation and future of the hotel.
